Abstract

type:P(論文)

Recent clinical psychological reseatches, including some master's theses of graduate students in my laboratory, show the difficulty of child raising of today which contains serious changes on child's psychological development and on parent's attitudes for children. I found that participants in my workshop, which is for parents who have preschool children, had a tendency to avoid facing children's negative feelings when they were requested to control their impatient children. In this article, I focus on this parent's attitude and argue on a process of children's emotional development affected by parent's response to their negative emotions. I emphasize both raising an ability of emotional regulation and bringing up a tolerance to negative feelings for child's socialization. I conclude that a shift of viewpoint from "a support for parenting" to " a support for parenting" to "a support for parents and their emotional reaction to children" is essential for a Clinical Psychologist's approach in a practical way.
