Description
This essay focuses on the “Evacuation Generation(Sokaiha)”, who insisted on generational thought by constructing war experiences as a postwar theory. The insistence of the “Evacuation Generation” was appeared as a form of contrasting with the “War Generation”. The specific movement of “Evacuation Generation” can be confirmed form the magazine, Sokaiha. In Sokaiha, they tried to set up postwar theory through their war experiences. Their criticism of postwar democracy, it can be confirmed from their essays and novels about “Postwar Generation”, Especially those related to Oe Kenzaburo, who called himself “Postwar Generation”, “Postwar Democrat”. Especially Yuri Haj ime, he criticized Oe Kenzaburo, because Oe couldn’t have a war experience as a country boy. In conclusion, I examined that the “Evacuation Generation” couldn’t be generalized as a specific, unique generation insistence.
