近年,科学技術と社会問題の結びつきが示唆されており,技術的視点で社会問題に関心を持ち解決のために行動を起こす力を,中学生のうちから身につけさせておくことが重要であると考える。そこで本研究では,「自分は,周りの環境をより望ましい方向に変化させるために,発言や行動ができる」という社会的効力感について,中学生向けの尺度を作成し,その信頼性・妥当性を検討した。さらに,中学校技術科において授業実践を行い,その効果測定として社会的効力感を量的に検討した。研究1では,20項目の社会的効力感測定項目について,因子論的妥当性・内的整合性と構成概念妥当性を検討した。因子分析の結果,「個人的利益を含む社会的効力感」と「利他的な社会的効力感」の2因子が抽出され,中学生においては行為の性質ではなく利益の所在によって社会的効力感が機能することが示唆された。研究2では,中学校技術科において,子どもが植えたパンジーの花のプランターを駅に設置する授業実施した。授業前と授業後での比較検討を,t検定を用いて行ったところ,本授業での社会的効力感の向上効果は認められなかった。

In recent years, technology and society have become closely intertwined. I believe that it is important to get students interested in social issues from a technological standpoint, and provide them with the skills to address these issues while they are still in junior high school. In this study, a scale was designed for junior high school students' social efficacy ─ the ability to speak out and take action to change one's surrounding environment in a positive way ─ and examined for its reliability and validity. Furthermore, students' social efficacy were measured quantitatively after they attended a practical training course of technology to test the effectiveness of the scale. In the first study, I considered the factorial validity, internal consistency, and framework validity of 20 social efficacy measurement categories. In the results of the factor analysis, two factors, “social efficacy including personal benefit" and “altruistic social efficacy" were extracted, suggesting that junior high school students' social efficacy are activated by gain, and not by the nature of the act itself. In the second study, students from the junior high school technology class used a planter to grow pansies in front of a local train station. A comparative review of social efficacy before and after the class activity (using a t-test) showed no improvement.
