In a preparation of 2,5-dimethyl-3-hexyne-2,5-diol from calcium carbide powder and acetone in ethyl ether in presence of KOH, we have found that yield of the diol has teen increased when acetylene gas has been used together. The yield was 63.4%.

我々はカルシウムカーバイド（以下カーバイドと言う）とケトン類を溶媒中水酸化カリウムの存在で反応せしめる方法によって十数種のアセチレングライコール類を合成してきた。この方法は収率の良いものもあるが一般に比較的低いのでその改良法を目下研究しつつあるが，本報ではアセチレンを共用して反応せしめ2,5-ジメチル-3-ヘキシン-2,5-ジオールを合成した結果につき報告する。
