「歴史総合」が近現代史を中心とした日本史•世界史の融合科目であることと必履修科目として設定されたことは前向きに評価できる。しかし、「歴史総合」という科目の理想を形にするためには、「歴史総合」を実質的な人試科目として位置付けることと、この科目で育成する能力を「日本史探究」や「世界史探究」で育成する能力と別次元のものとして設定することが必要である。前者については、「歴史総合」、「歴史総合・日本史探究」、「歴史総合・世界史探究」を入試科目とすること。後者については、「多面的・多角的な考察」を通して、歴史における璽要局面で、他の選択肢を探ろうとする「歴史的想像力」を育成することを提言する。

It can be positively evaluated that "History Synthesis" is a combined subject of Japanese history and world history focusing on modern and contemporary history, and that it has been set as a compulsory subject. However, in order to pursue the ideal of "History Synthesis," it is necessary to place "History Syn thesis" as a substantial en trance examination subject, and to think of the skills that can be fostered through this subject as different from the ones that can be developed through "Japanese History Inquiry" and "World History Inquiry." As for the former, I propose that "History Synthesis," "History Synthesis and Japanese History Inquiry" or "History Synthesis and World History Inquiry" should be entrance examination subjects. Asf or the latter, Ial so insist that we should foster "historical imagination," which can help in the search for other choices in the face of important phases of history through "multifaceted and multidirectional considerations."
