Description
The purpose of this papar is to show how total theory and practice about Human Resource Development(HRD)has developed and its problem to be discussed. Little is known about definition and theory of HRD when discussing HRD in Japanese context. At first we review definition and theory of HRD publish in western countries. It is suggestive when we clarify the three areas among skill training, organizational development, and career development. While educational perspective focused on individual development and organizational perspective focused on human resource development have accumulated in western context HRD studies, we need to integrate both side perspectives. Next, we discuss the necessity of integrated HRD model in terms of employee's skill training and career formation in Japanese company. Lastly, we propose integrated framework on HRM including three areas and two perspectives, introducing previous main studies concerning skill training, organizational development, and career development.
