Description
This study focused on the reason why the quack was not described in the literature written in the Joseon era. The fact there barely was the quack in the literature written in the Joseon era was compared to the Japanese literature written in the Edo era, because the quack as the derisive characters were often described in the Japanese. Joseon dynasty educated doctors through Kwago test to supervise doctors as Yangban bureaucracy, thus the same class people who were the writers of literature wouldn't mock nor caricature in their works. This is the reason why the quack didn't appear in the literarue written in the Joseon era.
