Abstract
When refrigerants R11 and R12 are replaced by respective alternatives R123 and R134a in air-cooled condensers for invariable values of the heat exchange rate, inlet vapor temperature, logarithmic mean temperature difference, air-side equivalent heat transfer coefficient and inner tube diameter, the change of heat transfer area is predicted to be plus 5% for R123 and minus 2% for R134a, while that of mass flow rate to be plus 6~7% for R123 and minus 15~20% for R134a.
