Abstract

We conducted a questionnaire survey to evaluate the present status of self-care cleanliness activities such as tooth-brushing, hand-washing, and mouth-washing in school-age children. At the most, one out of 5 children practiced all the above three activities and it was mouth-washing that was most unpopular. A disturbance of their life-rhythm, especially in junior-high schoolers, seems to be an obstacle to the establishment of life-long preventative habits.
