Description

Mogari 殯 is the common funeral form in our ancient times that a dead man's body should be ensconced in a hut after his death till burial, or it be provisionally buried with his relatives confined to the hut and serve various rites in behalf of the dead. This form has hardly been investigated except for few unsatisfactory folklore studies. This article is to observe Mogari in the political view-point where succession to the throne should be considered throungh the forms of Mogari especially for the emperors by means of the fundamental facts from some historical resources.
