The three points of this paper are as following: / 1. There is much difference between the character of peerages prince marquis, count, viscount and baron- in Tsin (晋) period and in Sung (宋) period. In this paper I examined this problem from two points- how a title given by the former dynasty was dealt with and whether a man who was given a higher title by the same dynasty could transfer the former title to his prosperity. I cleared that this difference related to the transformation of the ruling system from Tsin dynasty which was of aristocratic to Sung dynasty which tried to deny the former. / 2. Feudal system of Tsin period consisted mainly of a system of enfeoffed lords ands the system of the five peerages. There is an opinion that this system is close to that of Chou (周) period which was known by scriptures. But in the fact it is difficult to regard this as a feudal system even in connection with a frame of the system such as mourning system. I concluded that this system should be regarded as one of bureaucratic organization in a broad sense. / 3. I examined the real state of income of feudal lords in the feudal system of Tsin dynasty and probed that it was too limited for them to possess "the power" as feudal lords.
