Abstract

The concept of originality had developed in 18th century in Britain. The 1911 Act was enacted as the first unified copyright law, and harmonized with Belin Revision Conference. However, some parts of the 1911 Act, for example the scope of translation and adaptation, were different from the Conference. The copyright protection in UK was reflected from the theory of John Locke. Its economic viewpoint is also useful to us.
