Description
In this thesis, I examine articles from the salvation army publications on Japanese free cessation movement (Jiyu Haigyo Undo) in four bulletins from the salvation army international headquarters in Britain compared with articles in the Japanese War Cry to make it clear how relationships and the division of the roles between the British and the Japanese salvation army were, and who governed decision-making in free cessation movement in the early period. Here, I will also show that the historical background of the establishment of the Japanese first rescue home for women by the salvation army was the same kind of experiences as in Ceylon.
