Abstract

ケア/ケアリングは一般的には「手当」「気づかい」「世話」などの意味あいで使われてきた。メイヤロフはケア/ケアリングとは「相手を育てることであり、自己実現を助けることであると同時に、このケア/ケアリングを通してケアする人も共に成長していくものである」と述べている。このメイヤロフのケアの哲学を基本にしながら看護・福祉領域などでケア/ケアリングの概念について教えられてきている。特に看護の領域では、ケア/ケアリングは看護の中心概念であるが故に重要な部分であると考えられてきた。また、ケア/ケアリングの看護理論も数多く存在し、代表的なものにレイニンガーやワトソンの理論があげられる。これらの理論は、ケア/ケアリングの概念を基本にしてそれぞれの視点から理論的に構築されたものである。以上、重要なケア/ケアリングの概念であるがこの言葉は今なお曖昧に使われており明確な定義づけがなされておらず、論争が続いている現状である。看護理論においても同様である。本論はこのようなケア/ケアリングの概念および理論の現状と今後を展望するものである。

The term of "care" or "caring" has been generally used to imply "treatment", "concern" and "attention". According to Mayeroff, "to care for another person, in the most significant sense, is to help him grow and actualize himself," This philosophy of Mayeroff's has been playing the fundamental role in teaching the concept of care / caring in the many fields such as nursing and social welfare. In particular, nursing science has considered the notion of care / caring as important, since it is the core concept of nursing. At the same time, there are many nursing concepts regarding care / caring, represented by works of Leininger and of Watson. Being based on the care / caring concept, each of them was theoretically developed from its own perspective. Despite its significance as desorbed above, the notion of care / caring has yet been clearly defined, the term has been used ambiguously, and its definition is still under ongoing debate. A similar story applies to the nursing theory as well. This study aims to scrutinize the present situations and the future perspective of both care / caring concept and the nursing theory.
