Exact View-factor Analysis for Radiation from a Sphere to another Sphere linked with a Coaxial Cylinder

Abstract
Exact analytical expressions for view factors for radiation from a sphere to another sphere linked with a coaxial cylinder are obtained for the first time by using a general solution method developed by the author. The derived expressions are quite general and equivalent to closed-form solutions, because only one remaining single integral which cannot be expressed in closed form is easy to calculate numerically with its accuracy being equal to closed-form solutions. As a special case of vanishing connecting cylinder, the view-factor expressions for two separate spheres of unequal radius and also for two spheres intersecting each other are obtained easily from the derived expressions. The validity of these results are checked by applying them to the simpler known cases such as view factors for sphere and intersecting plane.
