From February 7th to March 17th, 2019, the Kanazawa University Museum held a winter exhibition “Rice Farming and Chinese Civilization”. This is a joint exhibition with KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area) “Rice Farming and Chinese Civilization: Renovation of Integrated Studies of Rice-based Civilizations”.This special exhibition is based on poster presentations of research results reports, but the content of each poster is highly academic, so it was expected that it would give visitors a sense of fatigue. Therefore, we decided to arrange replicas that output relics data measured three-dimensionally in China. By looking at the replicas of cultural relics that look similar to the real ones, we had a visual image of the Neolithic culture of the lower Yangtze River, which is the subject of the research project, and intended to help understand the poster content. In this paper, while looking back at this special exhibition, we will focus on what kind of effects and problems existed in the artifact replica exhibition. The conclusion is that 3D printed replicas of foreign cultural relics have the effect of reducing the fatigue of visitors while making it possible to display the appearances of precious materials from foreign countries at low risk, but it is not enough to reproduce the texture at the present time.
