外国人対象の日本語教育において，パブリックスピーキングは重視されてきているが，その中で非言語行動の扱いについてはまだあまり研究がされていない。そこで本稿では，実際に日本語のスピーチ指導をした経験を持つ日本語教師を対象に調査を実施した。その結果，調査対象者全員がスピーチ指導の際には非言語行動を指導すると回答し，視線行動や姿勢，手の動き，顔の表情を主な指導項目として挙げた。評価の仕方については，非言語行動の種類によっても異なる結果が出た。また非言語行動の指導や評価をどのように考えて行うべきかについてはさまざまな意見が出され，今後の詳しい調査が必要なことがわかった。

The benefits of public speaking skills have been widely acknowledged in the teaching of Japanese as a foreign language. However, the treatment of nonverbal behaviour in Japanese speeches has not been studied in depth.In our survey all teachers who have experience of teaching public speaking in Japanese responded that they give advice on nonverbal aspects of delivery and that this consists mainly of giving eye-contact, posture, hand movement, and facial expressions. The evaluation criteria seem to vary according to the type of nonverbal element. Each teacher expressed a different view and approach in the treatment of both teaching and evaluation of nonverbal elements of the speech and this requires further study.
