本研究では,コンピュータ学習と,学習に対する動機づけ,および,学習成果の関連性について検討をくわえた。予備調査では,大学生194名から得られたデータを因子分析し,外国語学習への動機の下位側面として,内容関与的動機づけと内容分離的動機づけの2因子を得た。つづく実験では,大学生42名をコンピュータ学習群,40名をプリント学習群として単語の暗記学習をさせ,各群の学習への動機づけと学習成績を測定した。結果として,学習法の違いによって学習成績に差異はみられなかった。一方,コンピュータ学習がもつ肯定的な側面が学習方法に対する動機づけを高めること,さらにそれが,学習内容に対する動機づけを高めるという道筋が示された。これらのことから,コンピュータを用いた学習は,学習者のやる気や意欲を高める効果があると考えられる。学習場面におけるデジタル教材の導入にむけて,動機づけの側面から提言を行った。

Current study examined the relationships between computer learning, learning motivation and language proficiency result. In the preliminary study, factor analysis was performed on the answers from 194 university students for their motivation in learning using a foreign language scale. Two factors, namely, content relevant motive and content separate motive were extracted. Then, in the experiment, participants were divided into two groups. One was consisted of 42 students who had used computers to learn some words from foreign language and the other group was made of 40 students who had used printed materials. In addition to that, motivation for learning and language proficiency results were measured. Results showed no difference between the two groups in achievement scores. On the other hand, it was found that positive aspects of computer learning improved their motivation in using this computer learning method. Then through this learning method, the leaner's motivation for learning contents themselves was improved. It was concluded that computerized learning method had an effect to improve learner's motivation. Implications from motivational theory toward the introduction of digital materials into the learning situations were also provided.
