本研究では,教師教育分野で現在最も充実したモデルとして世界的にも注目されているニュージーランドのカンタベリー大学教育学部(University of Canterbury,College of Education,旧クライストチャーチ教育大学)における中等学校教師教育センターの最新の体育教員養成プログラムと教育実習について,1ニュージーランドの教育制度,2カンタベリー大学教育学部の教育学士(体育)養成プログラム,3カンタベリー大学教育学部の教育実習プログラムの3点から報告し,ニュージーランドの大学教育学部における優れた実践的教員養成プログラムと長期に亘る一貫した教育実習プログラムの実際について明らかとなった。

In recent years, the superior teacher education curriculum of universities in New Zealand is worthy of attention in the world. The author had opportunity to visit to the College of Education, University of Canterbury in New Zealand in 2007. The Christchurch College of Education was integrated into the University of Canterbury in January,2007. The purpose of this study is to examine the present condition and the curriculum of physical education teacher education of the College of Education, University of Canterbury in New Zealand. The finding and discussions on the following topics are presented in this paper : 1. An outline of education in New Zealand. 2. The curriculum of physical education teacher education of the College of Education, University of Canterbury. 3. The curriculum of teaching practice of physical education teacher education of the College of Education, University of Canterbury.
