Abstract
A nonreciprocal composite right/left-handed waveguide loaded with antiparallel magnetized ferrite has been shown to have the advantage that the operating frequency can be easily swept by an applied magnetic field. However, due to the difficulty in applying the bias field, the operation could not be experimentally verified. In this study we propose a nonreciprocal CRLH-WG using folded rectangular waveguide structure, and reveal experimentally for the first time that it operate as balanced CRLH-TLs in forward propagation direction. Since it can sweep continuously from the phase delay to the phase lead, it is expected to be applied to variable phase shifters.
