X線投影法を用いた胃がん検診では、撮影時に診療放射線技師(技師)が透視下で胃がんを疑わせる異常所見を見つけ、X線写真に詳しく描写することが非常に重要であり、それには技師の読影力が必要となってくる。しかし、これまで技師の読影力に関する報告はなく、その必要性の認識も低かった。本研究では、技師の読影力を数値化し、技師の読影力ががんの描出状況にどのように関係しているのかについて検討した。その結果、胃がん検診における技師の読影力と早期がんの描出状況の間に正の相関があることが明らかになった。これは技師の読影力向上の必要性を示し、そのための教育を促すものである。技師の読影力の向上は、今後の胃がん検診における発見率向上に寄与すると考えられる。

In screening examination for gastric cancer using X-ray photography, it is very important tha radiological technologists detect abnormal symptoms suspicious of gastirc cancer foci and depict them in detail. Therefore, the reading ability is required for every radiological technologist. However, there was few report on the reading ability of radiological technologist and the necessity of it was not recognized well until now. This study showed a significant positive corretation between the reading ability and the radiographic skill of radiological technoloist to detect early cancer foci in screening examination for gastric cancer. The result indicates that the readin ability is necessary for every radiological technologist and the education is required for that purpose. It is considered that the promotion of radiological technologist reading ability is useful for the improvement of cancer discovery rate in screening examination for gastric cancer.
