<p>In order to quantitatively clarify the effect of δ-phase precipitation on the strength of grain boundary in Ni-based superalloy GH4169 at elevated temperatures, which is expected to be used in aircraft engines, uniaxial tensile tests at 800°C were conducted on specimens with different amounts of δ-phase precipitation, and the microstructural changes were analyzed using laser microscopy and EBSD. The microstructural changes were analyzed by laser microscopy and EBSD. It was confirmed that the alloy with δ-phase precipitation (GH4169) fractured at 800°C with necking. EBSD analysis showed that the high-density dislocations occurred only in the region of a few μm near the grain boundary. Furthermore, the strength of the specimens with δ-phase precipitation was lower than that of the specimens without δ-phase precipitation, indicating that the δ-phase precipitation caused a decrease in the material strength. The amount of δ-phase precipitation increased with increasing heating time and the strength decreased accordingly, suggesting the possibility of using the amount of δ-phase precipitation near the grain boundary to evaluate the grain boundary strength.</p>
