Abstract
<p>Our research group has investigated two types of metal complexes as dopants for inducing a chiral nematic phase; one is elongated in parallel with the C2 axis (para-type), while the other is elongated along perpendicular to the C2 axis (per-type). We previously investigated para-type complexes systematically, whereas we limitedly investigated para-type complexes, those with dibenzoylmethane derivatives as a ligand. In this study, we investigated a new para-type ruthenium complex by using natural curcumin as a ligand. The effect of hydrogen bonding via the terminal OH group on the HTP was also investigated</p>
