Description

In this thesis, I concentrate on the comparison between US-Japan trade friction and US-China trade frictions. The paper highlights the similarities and the differences between the two cases, including the causes, the contexts and the contents of these frictions and each country's responses to US policies during the friction. The purpose of this thesis is, summarizing how the US-Japan trade frictions have been settled, to draw lessons from the US-Japan case, to make some constructive suggestions to the ongoing US-China case, at least helpful to avoid the high tension now being escalated. Then by comparing these two episodes, I try to figure out the common factors and rules in the phenomena of trade fiction.
