Description

The purpose of this series of studies is to propose an assurance design method of connection in wooden wall structure calculated on allowable stress design and to verify its validity. In this paper, connecting systems used at the bottom of column in wall structure are classified according to the bending resisting mechanism, and then the calculation method for tension and bending moment of several types of connections depending on their rocking behavior are proposed. As a result of comparison between the wall test with the calculation result, it was indicated that the proposed method was generally appropriate.
