Abstract

The authors have been researching "methods of video production for the purpose of documenting local resources and disseminating their attractions. This paper aims to discuss this "multilayered structure of temporality" in the context of "time-based design," a new paradigm that incorporates a time axis in design. Then, in order to verify the validity of the "multilayered structure model of time" proposed by the authors, we attempt to analyze the "multilayered structure of time" using the film "Drive My Car" directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi (original story by Haruki Murakami), which won the 94th Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
