Abstract

In this study, we developed a printer control platform “DeviceTags”. The “DeviceTags” developed in this study can be used to develop printer-based systems without requiring specialized knowledge of printer control. It is expected to reduce the number of man-hours required for system development and to lower the technical difficulty of developing printer-based systems. “DeviceTags” can be mass customization of printers, which are mass-produced products. “DeviceTags” has the potential to contribute to the development of products for the small-scale, high-mix market. In this paper, we describe “DeviceTags”, a printer control platform, and discuss its effectiveness based on systems developed using “DeviceTags”.
