Abstract

To prevent water disasters, the concept of floating buildings has been proposed and several floating buildings actually exist. It can adjust its acceptable flood depth easily and it is useful in the situation that growing of precipitation amount is expected due to global warming. However, studies on lateral forces acting on floating buildings have been conducted, the effect of vertical steps on the water surface caused by bore has rarely been considered. To confirm the effect of bore, time history response analysis considering bore was conducted.
