<p>We have adopted the following four topics: 1) dietary phosphorus management in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, 2) inadequate nutrient intakes in Filipino schoolchildren and adolescents, 3) clinical and societal implications of vitamin insufficiency, and 4) zinc transporters. Vitamins and minerals play essential roles in health promotion in clinical and societal perspectives with marked advances in understanding the mechanism underlying such effects.</p>
