Abstract

[Purpose] The purpose of this research was to develop a measuring device using a new laser beam which can estimate the arch height quantitatively for the forefoot lateral arch without appropriate evaluation measurement index. [Significance of this device] When using this measuring device, place one leg on the laser irradiation plate and keep the standing posture on the foot on the opposite leg. Land marks are irradiated using two laser markers. Calculate the intersection of intersecting lasers with the digital calipers. The lateral width of the forefoot portion is calculated using the measure of the pipe processed. [Conclusion] Using a laser marking device, we developed a measuring device that can measure foot lateral arch height in a short time without pulling a line on the foot. This measuring device can measure in standing position and sitting position, and can be expected to be used by a wide range of subjects. Since it can be easily measured, it seems that it can be used for clinical evaluation.
