Abstract

[Purpose] This study developed a foot lateral arch height measuring device using a laser rangefinder to quantitatively evaluate the foot lateral arch height. [Significance of this device] When using this measuring device, place one leg on the laser irradiation plate and keep the standing posture on the foot on the opposite leg. Land marks are irradiated using two laser markers. Calculate the height of the intersection of the lasers with a laser rangefinder. The lateral width of the forefoot portion is calculated using the measure of the pipe processed. [Conclusion] We have developed a measuring device that can measure the lateral arch height of the foot in a short time without drawing a line on the foot using a laser marking device and a laser rangefinder. This measuring device is capable of standing and sitting, and enables evaluation in a short time. Since it can be easily measured, it is suggested that it can be used in clinical evaluation.
