Description

Chimeric antigen receptor-T cell (CAR-T) therapy is a regenerative medicine that requires strict control from the stage of cell collection to material manufacturing. Since the management of post-infusion adverse events is characteristic, a new medical and nursing system has been required. Here, we report on our participation in quality control from the perspective of a transfusion department nurse, and our practices in departmental collaboration, procedure development, and ward support. It was possible to quickly and efficiently establish a treatment system by utilizing the system of multidisciplinary collaboration in hematopoietic cell transplantation, and by creating and adding new roles required of each profession. As new products with slightly different requirements are introduced into clinical practice in the future, creativity and ingenuity will be required, taking into account limited resources, human resources, cost, and time. is essential. Although there are many unknowns involved in the introduction of a new treatment, and it is necessary to build a system with little experience, all involved must always remember that the patient is always at the center of the process.
