砂漢化は地球環境変化と関連して世界的な問題になっている.近年中国では,農耕地や草原の砂漠化が進行し,農耕地や社会資本が失われる危機にさらされている.砂漢化の機構解明とその防止を目指して,科学技術庁による国際共同研究が1990年から1994年に中国との間で実施された.著者らは,半乾燥農耕地域における砂漠化機構の解明課題を分担し,蘭州沙漠研究所奈曼試験場と共同で現地観測研究を実施した.観測対象は,内モンゴル自治区奈曼周辺の砂丘,草原,農耕地などであり,それぞれの微気象や植生状態を観測した.また,1992年から1994年の夏季には,草原に放牧強度を異にする放牧試験区を設け,放牧強度の差異が草原植生の生育に及ぼす影響,ならびにそれが微気象に及ぼす変化などを観測した.本データブックは共同観測で得られた微気象データの大部分について,各観測場所毎にデータの品質チェックと再解析を行い,全ての観測場所のデータを統一フォーマットで印刷刊行したものである.観測データの品質制御などデータベース化は,科学技術振興事業団(JST)との共同研究として実施した.掲載内容は,気温,湿度,風速,地温,熱収支などの数値データの他,観測方法,観測条件,解析方法,結果の概略などからなり,解析結果の図表や観測場所の写真も含まれる.

The desertification is a serious problem in the world in relation to global change. Recently in China, agricultural lands and grasslands have been suffered by the crisis of desertification that has been burying agricultural fields and social infrastructures such as railways and buildings. In order to clarify the mechanism of desertification and develop the protection way, the cooperative study program between Japan and China was funded by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (STA) and Chinese Academy from 1990 to 1994. We participated in the field observation to reveal the desertification mechanism at semi-arid agricultural fields, as a joint study with researchers of the Naiman Experimental Station, the Desert Institute of China. The observation area was Naiman in Inner Mongolia, and the micrometeorology and vegetation structure were measured over dune, grasslands, and agricultural fields. The special experiment was carried out between 1992 and 1994, using the artificial test sections with four different grazing strengths, in order to reveal the effects of grazing stress on the grassland degradation and the change of microclimate caused by different grazing stress. The databook includes most of the data obtained during the joint field observations, but all the data printed were checked for their qualities and some were re-analyzed, then rearranged with the same format. The data quality control and processing for database were carried out as the cooperative research program with the Japan Science and Technology Cooperation (JST). Contents of the databook are numerical data of temperature, humidity, wind speed, soil temperature and energy balance, documentation of observation, methods of observation and analysis, pictures, and figures from brief data examination.
