<p>In this paper, in order to investigate impact resistant capacities of the RC beams strengthened in flexure with AFRP sheet reaching ultimate state with the sheet rupture,the drop-weight impact loading tests of the RC beams with/without setting cushion rubber were conducted due to increasing the drop height of the weight. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1) by setting the cushioning rubber on the impacted area of the beams, intensity of the primary impact force can be decreased by approximately from one-fourth to one-fifth that without setting cushion rubber and damage near the loading area can be effectively decreased; and 2) the beams reach ul-timate state with the sheet rupture irrespective of with/without setting cushion rubber.</p>
