Abstract

<p>The objectives of this study are to discuss the characteristics, significance and subjects of Coastal Water Zone Management System in China with focusing on "The People's Republic of China Water Zone Management Law". This management law, which has been established due to the necessities of adjustment between the increasing need to use coastal zone and the industry sections, is constituent of 8 chapters and 54 articles. It is the first law declared nationalization of the coastal water zone, with typical systematic attributes containing introduction of the zoning system and the right of using system, onerous usage of coastal water zone, and establishment of auction and bid system. It obviously aimed on the introduction of government efficient management and marketing mechanism. However, the law is companied several issues of efficiency and fairness. </p>
