[要約] 本稿では，中学１年生105名の英作文における誤りを分析することで，早期英語学習者の英語の学びの道筋を明らかにするものである。2022年６～７月に実施された英作文の２課題の解答を分析した。その結果，２種類の誤りが確認された。まず，⑴綴りに関する誤りでは，母音に関する誤りが散見された。また，語末に聞こえないはずの母音挿入することでモーラ化したことによる誤り，さらには，l/rを取り違えた綴りの誤りも確認された。次に，⑵音声化した際に，弱音で発音される文法構造の欠如が確認された。具体的には複数形の削除，a/anの欠如，be動詞の欠如，ing形の欠如が確認された。弱音で発音されているために，コミュニケーション活動を行った場合，学習者は上述の誤りを含んだ英文を音声化し，互いに聞き合っている可能性が高い。この結果から得られる教育的示唆として，教師の音声指導に関する意識を敏感にし，後の読み書き指導にまで影響があることを忘れてはならないということ，また，適宜，音声に関する明示的指導の必要性が考えられる。

[SUMMARY] This paper analyzes errors in English composition by 105 first-year junior high school students to clarify the path for early English learners to study the language. The authors analyzed the participants’ written words in answer to two English composition questions, which were conducted from June to July, 2022. As a result, two types of errors were identified. First, (1) spelling errors, in which the wrong vowels were used, were revealed. Besides, there were some examples of errors, where a vowel was inserted after the final consonant of a word（epenthesis）. There were also several mistakes which the students mistook the letters, ‘r’ and ‘l’. Second, (2) grammatical errors, which tend to be pronounced with weak sounds in communication. For example, the deletion of plural forms, ‘s’, the lack of a/an, the absence of the be-verb, the lack of the -ing form, were identified. Because the grammatical items were all pronounced weakly, learners are likely to use the expressions without noticing the mistakes. The pedagogical implications of the results include the need to sensitize teachers’ awareness of the importance of explicit speech/pronunciation instructions and not forget that it will affect later reading and writing instruction. In addition, there is a definite need for explicit speech instruction.
