Abstract
A low-profile spiral antenna with four passbands is developed. Four pairs of slots are cut into the spiral arms. Firstly, the radiation characteristics of the spiral antenna without slots (original spiral antenna) are analyzed. It is found that a gain of more than 5.5 dBi is obtained across the frequency range of 2.4 to 9.0 GHz. Secondly, the original spiral antenna is transformed into a four-passband spiral antenna. It is revealed that the gain of more than 5.5 dBi is maintained in the four passbands. Finally, a prototype antenna is fabricated and measured to verify the analysis results.
