Abstract

<p>This paper describes the case of the University of Electro-Communications Library, which was the first national university library to introduce Ex Libris’ Alma, together with the background and issues for the introduction of Alma, operational details and challenges after the start of operation. In considering the requirements for key specifications, emphasis was placed on responding to the proliferation of e-books and e-journals and the unification of search services with discovery services. In addition, the actual status of staff training, changes in workflow and response to new functions, etc., will be explained, and issues such as the mentality of library staff will be touched on as a viewpoint when considering the renewal of the library system in the future.</p>
