Abstract
<p>The judgement of surface preparation grade for steel structure is performed through visual inspection, comparing it with the representative photo examples from ISO 8501-1. Therefore, there is a need to evaluate the surface preparation grade quantitatively. This paper aims to develop a support system that utilizes Vision Transformer to determine the surface preparation grade. In this study, we compare the support system developed by Vision Transformer with the one developed by Convolutional Neural Network in previous research. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the support system classified surface preparation grade based on basis of judgement clearly using Attention Map.</p>
