Abstract

Many researchers in recent years have focused on learning experience design (LXD) as a methodology for enhancing qualities of learning experiences. Although this method has been developed by other fields from educational research, including user experience design (UXD) methods, learning experiences have different characteristics from service experiences in other fields. Therefore, taking these characteristics into account might be important for designing learning experiences effectively. In this paper, the cognitive load theory and qualities and levels of learning experiences are introduced to clarify the unique characteristics of learning experiences. It is also discussed how UXD methods can be used to enhance the quality of the learning experience effectively.
