Abstract

In this paper, we emphasize that for hair, beauty and barbering business, keeping staff and clients safe and complying with health & safety law must be top priorities in their salon or barbershop. Therefore, a national license is required for both hairdressers and stylists to practice. Many of us take the existence of the hair salon for granted. However, this is relatively recent development and transformed the workplace for Japanese women. Chiyoko Yamano was a prominent early example of the entrepreneurial female beautician. who attended a famous beauty school in New York. World War II saw more Japanese women enter the workforce than ever before. In addition, hairstyles were changing and requiring more and more upkeep. The 1970s saw a rise in male salon clientele, as longer hair became more in style. Today, hair salons are ubiquitous, and many of us rely on them as a crucial part of our beauty and healthy routines.
