Description

On-chip mechano-indexing has many advantages such as low risk of contamination, stable environment for manipulation, and flow cytometric measurement. In this paper, we propose a microfluidic chip made by rigid polymers; two cyclo-olefin polymer substrates and a polyimide film with force sensor probes. Compared to the conventional robot integrated microfluidic chip composed of glass – silicon – glass layers, the proposed COP – PI – COP chip allow us to reduce the fabrication process with keeping rigidity for the sensor probe. In the experiment, we succeeded in driving a force sensor probe with the fabricated microfluidic chip and measuring the mechano-index of a hydrogel.
