Description

The purpose of this study is to clarify the behavioral patterns necessary for third-generation president of a family business to inherit and develop existing businesses and to develop new businesses. Therefore, the practitioner in the field became a researcher, observed his own experience using the internal observation method, which is the perspective of the practitioner=researcher, and described it as a self-ethnography. Next, the data obtained from field surveys were analyzed and discussed using the conceptual framework of effectuation theory proposed by Sarasvathy (2008). As a result, it is clear that the series of actions of president A can be explained by effectuation theory, and that president A took entrepreneurial actions to create new businesses and entered the new medical market.
