As the internet use among young people has increased, so have the international concerns about ensuring their protection online. This research measured children's internet literacy in order to cultivate competencies and resilience to internet risks. The analysis results show that it is necessary to increase the “improper transactions” and “privacy risks” literacies. In addition, in terms of the relationship between online trouble experience and literacy, students with trouble experience tended to have higher literacy as compared to students without trouble experience. In particular, the trend was stronger in the security risk category than in other categories. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid excessive internet usage restrictions and develop the internet competencies and resilience of the youth.
