Abstract

Microalgae are attracting attention toward the realization of a decarbonized society, because they produce oil as a metabolite of photosynthesis. Fuel made from microalgae is more expensive to produce than conventional fuels. In addition, open culture, which has lower production costs, causes inhibition of photosynthesis at high light levels. Semitransparent Organic Photovoltaics (ST-OPVs) have light shading and wavelength selectivity in addition to power generation. In this study, we aimed to combine power generation and cultivation of oil-producing algae using ST-OPVs.
