戦国時代等の戦いを対象とした歴史研究は，歴史研究家が静的な史料を収集・調査・分析し，机上のシミュレーションによりこれらを時系列に展開して史実を説明する形式が従来一般的であった．一方，防衛用のモデリング&シミュレーション（M&S）の分野では，実施方法およびモデルの妥当性確認方法等が国際標準化され，コンピュータ上でのM&Sが活用されている．本研究では歴史研究におけるM&Sに，防衛分野の国際標準で定められたM&S実施のプロセスとレファレントに準拠して妥当性を検証する方法を提案する．本稿では提案方法の有用性を示すために，平安時代末期から江戸時代末期までの5つの戦いのM&Sに適用することで評価した結果を述べる．本稿で示すM&Sのほとんどは歴史研究家とともにモデリングと妥当性確認を実施し，かつすべてTVの歴史番組制作者と一部実験を行ってM&Sのためのパラメータを取得する等，一般の視聴者にとって分かりやすく有益であることを目的として実施した．本研究の成果は，歴史上の戦いを対象としたM&Sにおいても国際標準のプロセスを用いることで，目的に応じてモデルの忠実度を定めることおよびレファレントを用いて妥当性確認を行えることを示した点である．今後の歴史上の戦いの研究においてM&Sを活用するための指針として活用できると考えられる．

In historical research on battles during the Sengoku era, it has been common for historians to collect, investigate, and analyze static historical documents and to explain historical facts by developing them chronologically through tabletop simulations. On the other hand, in modeling and simulation (M&S) with respect to military simulation, implementation processes and model validation processes have been standardized, and computer-based M&S is utilized. In this study, we propose a method to validate M&S in historical research based on the M&S implementation process and referents defined in international standards in the field of military simulation and evaluate the usefulness of this method by applying it to M&S of five battles from the end era of the Heian to the end era of the Edo. The results of the evaluation of the usefulness of the method are described. Most of the M&S described in this paper were modeled and validated with historians, and all the experiments were partially conducted with TV history program producers to obtain parameters for M&S. The aim was to make the method understandable and useful for the general audience. The results of this study confirm the importance of clarifying the purpose of M&S in verifying validity and the importance of determining the fidelity of the model at the time of design. These results can be used as a guideline for M&S in future historical research.
