Abstract
To support the still increasing mobile traffic, heterogeneous network is promising. In heterogeneous network, utilizing both resource allocation and inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) is inevitable, which requires joint optimization of both techniques. In this paper, resource allocation includes user allocation and scheduling. We propose joint optimization of UA and ICIC via distributed control. As UA, one optimal base station (BS) is selected for each of the macro BS and low-power (LP) BS, i.e., two BSs in total. In our distributed control method, “distributed” control units (DCUs) were located at the macro base stations (BSs). Furthermore, we showed the effectiveness of our proposed scheme.
