- Resonance Noise Reduction of Small Electronics Cooling Ducts Using Helmholtz Resonators and Their Operating Limits
抄録

To solve thermal problems in small electronic devices, some small fans are built into the cooling ducts. The small fan for cooling is installed inside the cooling duct, but the sound and airflow noise generated by the small fan may resonate with the duct, causing the quality of the equipment to deteriorate. To prevent this quality degradation, reducing the noise level has become an important issue. In this study, we focus on acoustic resonance generated by the flow path shape of ducts among the causes of noise. The Helmholtz resonator, which is an effective countermeasure against acoustic resonance, is used to reduce resonance noise. The resonator is fabricated to reduce the first-order resonance of the duct. Resonance sound measurements are made for resonators with neck lengths of 5mm and 3mm, and POA is used as a method for evaluating resonators to determine the thickness of the volume section, which is the operational limit of each resonator, for neck lengths of 5mm and 3mm.
