Abstract
<p> Character introductions posted on the websites of productions tend to describe the characters' personalities. In this study, a total of 115 animation works broadcast from 2000 to 2020 are analyzed, and the character profiles of the 1,375 main characters are statistically analyzed. Characterization phrases are, for example, "kind," "cheerful," "honest," etc., and include synonyms, spelling inconsistencies, and so on. Therefore, a personality thesaurus was used beforehand to compile them into a representative group of 205 personality words, 99 words in the positive version and 106 words in the negative version, for a total of 205 words. The survey found that 50.4 percent is contained only character-setting phrases with positive attributes, while 26.7 percent of character introductions contained both positive and negative attribute words.</p>
