Abstract

The temperature increase in biological tissue when a human body with implanted metal plates was exposed to radio waves was evaluated. The numerical estimation based on the FDTD method was performed to calculate the local SAR enhancement. The temperature distribution in the tissue was estimated by solving the bioheat transfer equation using the obtained SAR as the heat source. As a result, due to the difference between SAR distribution and temperature distribution, 0.1 g averaged SAR is highly correlated with temperature rise.
